North Frontenac COVID-19 Update

Mayor Higgins wishes to thank Township staff, residents, businesses and essential workers for their exceptional efforts during this difficult time. As the COIVD-19 pandemic continues to evolve locally, it is vital that we all do our part to help flatten the curve by staying at home and self-distancing.

In an effort to keep our community safe and reduce the impact on regional health care centres and local supply chains, the Township is encouraging cottagers and recreational visitors to delay their arrival this spring. KFL&A Medical Officer of Health, Dr. Kieran Moore is encouraging visitors to temporarily delay their visit as “This practice has the unintended consequences of spreading COVID-19 in our rural communities and exhausting local resources, including healthcare”.

The Township has created a North Frontenac COVID-19 Reference Sheet that will be updated as required and posted on the Township’s Website to help answer any questions North Frontenac residents may have with respect to the Pandemic as it continues to change rapidly.

Township Council and the Emergency Operations Control Group continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and provide updates on the Township’s Website as soon as possible following any changes.
Please help to slow the spread of COVID-19, we will all get through this together.
