Tapping's Landing Spring Update Ice Damage & Signage

Update: Good News received on April 9 - the dock has been fixed!

Original article. The Township of North Frontenac contacted us on March 25 with an update on Tapping's Landing dock damage and changes to signage.  Darwyn Sproule, the Public Works Manager advises:

'We recently inspected the dock facility and there has been considerable ice damage this year.  Wanted to assure you that we are aware of this issue and repairs will be scheduled when the risk of further damage has passed, and when conditions permit. The damage is significant and there is a considerable amount of work required.

Regarding the parking area and previous commitments:

  • completed the brushing and removal of several danger trees last fall.  Signage will be completed this spring.
  • no parking” signs will be installed on the lake side from the landing towards Viking Point Lane.
  • existing “no parking” signs on the causeway north of the landing will be upgraded and limit extended.
  • availability of parking further down North Mazinaw Heights Rd will be addressed by upgrading the older existing “parking ahead” sign.'
