Corn Roast, BBQ, and Pot Luck MPOA's first

On August 25th MPOA hosted a barbecue and corn roast for its members. Kip and Mairi VanKempen at the north end of South Mazinaw Heights road graciously offered the use of a large open area adjacent to their cottage for the event. This ideal location allowed both road and water access and a great view of the lake.

A special “Thank you” to Brian and Joanna Milligan of Milligan Meats in Cloyne for their home made burgers, hot dogs and corn. They spent the afternoon beside their new catering wagon cooking all the meat and veggie burgers.

Local sweet corn was a highlight along with a wide array of potluck salads and desserts.  Approximately 100 people from upper and lower Mazinaw enjoyed a relaxing afternoon in delightful summer weather. What a great opportunity to make new acquaintances and catch-up with old neighbours.

Outgoing MPOA president Arndt Kruger was thanked for his leadership over the past 6 years and presented with a t-shirt sporting the new MPOA logo.

Thanks to the numerous MPOA members who volunteered to help out with the event.

Bob Reid,

MPOA V.P.
