New location you can use for EMS

Last year the MPOA got together with the local fire chiefs to put together an ‘emergency preparedness’ document (available on our website), especially for boat access cottagers.  One of the recommendation to save time in the event of an emergency was to seek out a ‘buddy’ across the lake on the hwy side should you be able to cross the lake to meet an ambulance. Of course, it was very important that you know the address in advance as the EMS will not dispatch an ambulance without an address.

We are pleased to note Keith and Donna Buckley have offered their cottage address to MPOA members as a point to direct and meet an ambulance. They own the old Bon Echo Villa Marine property on Upper Mazinaw Lake.  The address is 16833 Highway 41 although there is no 911 sign at the shore.  The best way is for cottagers who might want to take advantage of this is to ensure they can find it in advance. There is a new 2 story cottage and a long stretched one story white building to the south of it.  The ambulance can drive right down to the water and it would be possible to leave a boat for a short while as well.

We are grateful to Donna and Keith for their offer.
