Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Associations (FOCA)
The Federation of Ontario Cottagers' Association (FOCA) speaks to, and on behalf of, the 250,000 waterfront property owners who live at the water in Ontario, either seasonally or year-round. Their members are 525 lake & road associations in rural communities across the province, including the MPOA.
Since 1963, FOCA has been the voice of the Ontario waterfront. Our united voice carries weight on issues that matter. They give us a heads up on topics that might be of interest to our members (e.g. when Hydro changed our seasonal status; when OPP costs were affecting our tax dollars, etc.). They write letters to the government about items that concern us and often provide us with a template to also send letters for maximum impact. They have provided cottage succession seminars, held by an estate lawyer.
As a member of our association, you are a member of FOCA and can access FOCA member benefits! The MPOA pay a fee per year for each of our members and you are entitled to FOCA benefits. Please click on the FOCA website https://foca.on.ca/ to see a list of FOCA benefits. You will need to set up a userid and password. You will need an access code which you can receive when you renew or sign
