ProCellaCOR

ProCellaCOR FX is a highly effective, liquid drip treatment that targets Eurasian Milfoil at the root. It has been certified and approved for use in Canada (by Health Canada), the EU and the U.S.A. Before bringing this solution forward, since Fall of 2022, the MPOA Board (under the umbrella of the Blue Lakes Committee) has carried out extensive research and consultations with government agencies, conservation authorities and other Lake Associations into options to treat Eurasian Milfoil. 
 

The MPOA Board has landed on ProCellaCOR FX because it has been shown to:

• have no detrimental effects to humans, fish and wildlife habitat.  

• has no swimming or drinking water restrictions.  

• does not impact any other aquatic vegetation besides Eurasian & Northern Milfoil. 

• is the most financially feasible treatment when compared to alternatives 

This treatment is not a guaranteed eradication of the infestation;  however, it does allow us to manage it in an attempt to keep it under control, which is our best hope. It has been independently and widely studied and has been used in Canada in such places as the Bay of Quinte twice and Farlain Lake (near Collingwood). While Farlain Lake has been trying to eradicate Eurasian Milfoil for 10+ years without success, in September 2023 they used ProCellaCOR FX with excellent results.

At our recent AGM 2024, members voted in favour of proceeding with ProCellaCor treatment in 2025. 

Next steps:
Step 1: Fundraising (to treat areas outside the regulated boundary of Bon Echo Provincial Park)
Step 2: Competitive invitation to quote (3 applicators now approved in Ontario).
Step 4: Hire a licensed applicator
Step 5: Execution 
Step 6: Post Treatment water testing 
Step 7: Monitoring of Results

 

ProCellaCOR FX will cost approx. $125k for the application and 3 year management of the 23 known patches.  We have begun a fundraising campaign and are thrilled to announce that we have already received pledges of $7k+ since our July 6th AGM.
